This is my third blogging attempt. Three times now I've played the game of entering characters into a form to find a unique and interesting name for my blog. My new pet peeve: people who sign up for the cool blog names and then never use them. I wonder how many blogs exist with only one entry, or not even one. Hundreds? Thousands? I have two blogs that are sitting dormant. Yes, I have committed my own pet peeve. Sorry.
I think this blog will go better though. Why? Because it will only last two to three months. No daunting, long-term commitments to cause me to lose interest. I'm a writer, or so my degree says, so I should be able to maintain a blog over the course of three months. And I will blog about:
The Census.
Sound boring? Maybe that's because you're thinking about counting while I'm thinking about interacting with lots of different people here in Minneapolis. I'm sure that interesting interactions will ensue.
So I took the exam today. The one that tests if I'm smart enough to count people. I had to add decimals, fill out sample forms, look at maps. I missed two. I'm not sure which two, but I guess that's passing.
Minneapolis is behind. St. Paul already has enough applicants to move to the next stage: hiring, training, counting. Minneapolis needs more applicants. They plan to continue testing through the end of the month, at which point they'll call me, and I'll learn how to count.
Stay tuned.
